Nicky Romero & Avicii

Nicky Romero mentioned a while back that him and Avicii were doing something together but nothing ever surfaced. A friend tipped me off about this video last night, a preview of the collaboration that he let loose at Nocturnal Wonderland. To be blunt, it sounds fucking incredible.

Gregori Klosman - Kameha (Preview)

Wow. I have been a very enthusiastic Klosman fan since the release of Jaws a while back, but this is unlike anything we've heard from him. Different from his usual quick, dirty club drops, this has much more of a stadium feel, anthem-esque to say the least. No info yet on the official release of this track, so looks like we'll be waiting anxiously on GK's soundcloud for the next few weeks... Check back as always for the official mix. For your health.

Eric Prydz - 2Night (Original Mix)

I am back.. and so is the master, Eric Prydz with his new, piano driven, progressive house bomb. This song is amazing - Prydz really is one of the top producers out there. Oh, and the "birdies" up top are for your health and a reminder of how good that video was.

Juicy J - Gotta New One

First leak of Blue Dream & Lean, the Three 6 Mafia rep's new mixtape. Ever since the guilty pleasure Rubberband Business 2 dropped earlier this year alongside Lex Luger, we've been anxiously awaiting another release from the trippy mane. That hook appears to be sampled from close friend Wiz Khalifa, with background "swag" samples from Tyler, the Creator. Look out for Blue Dream & Lean in the near future, with production from the likes of Juicy J himself, Lex Luger, Harry Fraud, and Sonny Digital (YC's "Racks").

Cam'ron & Vado - BOAB 2.8

Cam let loose of Boss of all Bosses 2.8 last night to tide everyone over until the album drops, and it blew a ninjas mind. I am a HUGE Vado & Cam fan, and an even bigger Diplomats enthusiast. This tape has that real classic early 2000's Diplomats sound, think Diplomats Vol. 1-5 or Diplomatic Immunity. Below are just a few selections off the release, each as incredible as the next. Definitely, definitely worth the listen. #Slime

Heres the lasted from the Swedish duo Dada life. Can't get this anywhere else but here. Your welcome.

Dirty Birdies this is how you produce. My kind words go out to Michael Brun he is from Haiti and 19 years old and obviously ahead of the game.

James Blunt, Deniz Koyu, Johan Wedel, Yves Larock – Rise Up To The Danger (Kalo SunshineEdit)

Great edit by Kalo cannot really top this.

Crowd Controlol - Lolwut - EP

Hey fellas,

Today is a really big day for me as my first ever EP just dropped on Beatport. I have been trying to get music on the store for over a year now and today it finally happened with AudioGroove Records. The EP has 3 tracks on it, which I consider to be deep house, tech house, and techno. They identified all 3 tracks on beatport as "Tech House" but I don't know if I necessarily agree with that.

The first track listed, "Commander in Chiefed" is what I considered to be the deep house track. It incorporates vocals of the inaugural speech by JFK over 3 layers of filtered synth shots that work together to form a sort of groove. The main melody, believe it or not, is a bongo drum that is manipulated in pitch to form a chromatic scale, which is what you hear as it climbs 12 notes in each sequence. The lyrics were intended to give the track a deeper, thought provoking vibe that flows better than a dub version.

Next, "Musica Break". This was a track that I thought to be the darkest on the EP. It is what I consider dark techno, very similar to a UMEK sort of style, with an almost electric sounding baseline and grinding vocals with vocoders on the channels to make it even darker. The top loop was combined with the whipping sound to make a series of overwhelming sound effects that work together on totally separate layers. Producing this track really gave me a better perspective on how we sometimes hear various layers as one in a track, when really they are on seperate channels simply supplementing each other.

Last is my favorite on the EP, "Wut". This track was the most recent one I produced and is what I believe to be the best portrayal of what I want most of my tracks to sound like in the future. The rolling tech baseline along with the bongo drums and clean high hats give it a sort of tribal vibe in the beginning. Later in the track, a new layer comes in that changes the feel of the entire track. The genre nearly completely transforms from tribal house to techno at 5:00.

Aside from my artist name being spelled wrong on Beatport (which is a real pain in the ass, and I'm getting it fixed as soon as possible), this is a really exciting day for me and I am looking forward to hundreds of more releases in the future. I would really appreciate any support you have to offer for the EP and have a great weekend!

Zoo Kid - Out Getting Ribs (Official Video)

This is Archy Marshalls debut single that came out back in April 2010, which he apparently recorded with a few friends in his bedroom, dope. This kid was born in 1994... do the math. And he's more talented than most musicians I've heard. It's really discouraging to see someone this young doing shit like this, but just as inspiring and motivating none the less. He sounds like a young Billy Brag or Morrissey, whichever it is I'm real into it. If you loved the video as much as I did, download the track below. For your health.

Cam'ron & Vado - Soulja (Feat. Jazz)

Play this on some nice speaks and you'll never think of 808's the same again, shit knocks. It's not a R3hab remix, but its good fuggin music. Take it or leave it. If you don't know Vado yet, get familiar. #Slime

Avicii & David Guetta - Sunshine (Original Mix)

The real version finally came out. Of course it is a good song, more of Avicii, not anything unexpected, which is a good thing. Enjoy.

The Weeknd - Thursday (Album)

The much anticipated new release from The Weeknd is finally here, download below. XO 'til we overdose.

Avicii & David Guetta - Till Sunshine (Pixel Cheese Bootleg)

This bootleg mashup is not too bad have a listen. Should keep everyone satisfied till the real one comes out.

Style of Eye - We Are Boys (Original Mix)

Been waiting for this song for about 3 months now. It is one of the best songs I have heard in a long, long time. Way too dope electronic feel. Download and love.

David Guetta & Afrojack - Lunar (Original Mix)

Hah... wow, I feel dumb. Guetta is not dead. Him and Afrojack kill it in this tune with the Daft Punk-esk feel. Download it. Too good.

Kid Cudi - No One Believes Me (Official Video)

So apparently this song was made for the remake of the 1985 movie Fright Night, but thankfully see's the light of day earlier than intended. Incredible beat, produced by frequent collaborator Dot Da Genius. Craig Gillespe directed, must watch. The ending is bananas, and the whole video has a really creepy vibe. I'm into it.

I'm loving this string of incredible visuals that have been dropping the last few days, hopefully it continues. For your health.

Kanye West & Jay-Z - Otis (Official Video)

This is the dopest dope music video you'll ever see. Basically the two coolest people on earth right now just showing people they can do whatever they want. AND Spike Jonze directed it. As in THE Spike Jonze. Don't know how to put it into words, just watch.

ASAP Rocky - Peso (Official Video)

I'm speechless... What'd we tell you. ASAP runs shit, harlem on the rise. For your health.

Skylar Grey- Invisible (Dirty South Remix)

Riding Dirty South birdy remix. Listen for your health.

Joonas Hahmo - Banana Split (Original Mix)

This is the new single by one of my favorite producers in the world, Joonas Hahmo. If you haven't heard of Joonas, I would highly recommend looking into some of his older tracks as well. It blows my mind how overlooked and underrated he is. He goes into some of the most advanced techniques of music theory through his chord progression and timing--it really shines in this track

Sunday, August 7, 2011

Nero - Promises (Calvin Harris Remix)

Nero's Promises EP came out today, and it is too dope. You all heard the Skrillex remix - now it is Calvin's turn. This song is really well done and with vocals like those found in Promises on top of CH's beats, it is hard to complain. Download it.

Saturday, August 6, 2011

David Guetta ft. Sia - Titanium (Original Mix)

Not huge on the Guet, but this song is pretty good and I know a lot of EDM fans dig his stuff. Seems like he is trying to move with the popular sound of the moment though (the breakdown). Sia is an awesome vocalist as well. Give it a listen.

Speed of Sound (Simon Sh:Out Edit)

I don't know what it is about the coldplay remixes but Daddy like..Simon Sh:Out is a young German Producer with alot of talent. You will enjoy this even if your a Coldplay hater. For your heath

R3hab & Swanky Tunes ft. Max C - Sending Your Love (Original Mix)

Vocal house... way too good. Download it.

Koan Sound - Max Out EP

I honestly don't even know how to start describe this release, because whatever is going on in this EP is beyond me. This is probably the most advanced production I have ever heard in EDM or dubstep or whatever this is classified as. This EP came out a while back but it's been sitting in my downloads folder for the past month, and has now been on repeat in my iTunes for the past 4 days. You need to hear this in context though, your computer speakers won't do this justice. Hearing this on some legitimate speakers took it to a whole nother level, the way every sound is panned and directionally mixed is too precise, it's like your ears are riding on a dubstep rollercoaster. Each of the four songs are all equally as good, this EP is a MUST HAVE. All of the tracks available for preview and download below. Dirty. Birds. For your health.

1. Trouble In The West
2. Max Out
3. Mr. Brown
4. One Hand Clap

Tiesto ft. Kay - Work Hard, Play Hard (Original Mix)

This does not really sound like your typical Tiesto. He seems to be adopting a more electronic sound over the past year, which is interesting to say the least. This song will grow on you, but it is a bit intense at first - but it IS Tiesto so, give it a listen.

Daft Punk - Aerodynamic (Nicky Romero Bootleg)

This song is obviously a classic. However, the up and coming Nicky Romero, who has produced some great stuff lately, took a shot at it and made something that is also very good. I am surprised he was up to such a task. Give it a listen.

And a bonus track that came out today as well, from Romero and Mitch Crown - Schizophrenic

Sunday, July 31, 2011

Gregori Klosman - Klosmania (Episode 3)

Hypster - Dirty Disco Nights (Original Mix)

The return of disco is way too good. Hypster is (I think) a relatively new Electronic artist who in the past has done much heavier songs, but this tune is a great change up. This type of electronic music is getting huge and when it is coupled with the awesome production skills of Hypster, a great piece of work ensues. Take a listen.

P.S. - Sorry for the weird extra run time at the end of this file. We are here to promote the music though.

Skylar Grey - Dance Without You (R3hab Remix)

R3hab is really blowing up lately - his remixes are fire. This one is no exception, from the amazing Sklyar Grey vocals to the unique but energized breakdowns, this song is really well done. Check it out.

Michael Woods - Bullet (Original Mix)

Michael Woods makes some great songs. This progressive house track has great build ups and breakdowns. It also really captures that epic feeling that is typical of big room house. Worth every second it takes to download.

Kanye West & Jay-Z - Watch The Throne (Documentary)

I know I'm a little late on this but I literally just watched this video 10 times in a row. It is incredible. August 8th can't come soon enough. Speechless.

Fadi - Ticket to the Sky (Original Mix)

Never heard of this guy. This is a solid progressive house track that has the Avicii/Marcus Maison & Will Dragen sound. If you are into that type of sound, this song will not disappoint. Plus it is dropped on Laidback Luke's label, so you gotta support it. Download it.

Late Nite Tuff Guy - I Get Deeper (Original Mix)

Unreleased track that I always hear live at Club Space in Miami when their resident, Dsan Powell spins. He's got one of my favorite styles--managed to find it in a 320 VBR online. I feel like these vocals perfectly depict my idea of true dance club culture.

Coldplay - Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (eSQUIRE Vs. OFFBeat Remix)

You know how I know your gay.. Because you listen to coldplay... For the birds

Sharam Jey Feat. Nik Valentino - The More That I Do (Remixes)

Here are some edits of Sharam Jey's fresh 80's jumpoff track. Marco V does his thing and creates another brilliant remix. The Whiteliner remix is pretty fresh as well, they are new to me so I will continue to follow them and keep you birds updated.

Dirty South & Thomas Gold Feat. Kate Elsworth - Alive (Original Mix)

Birdies you will dirty your own undies with this one, or change your religion if you believe in that kind of stuff.

Sidney Samson - Duplex (Original Mix)

Here is one of Sidney Samsons brand new tracks, no worries you can trust that this is a banger. Listen to this loud birdies.
